Funding Needs at Lake Forest Hospital

Cain Family Emergency Department

In the past year, 36,000 individuals relied on our board-certified emergency physicians and trauma-trained nurses.  Of course, while none of us can guess when or why we might experience an emergency, we are reassured knowing that whenever a crisis occurs—big or small—we can count on the Cain Family Emergency Department to provide exceptional life-saving care 24 hours a day.

Your gift supports the following initiatives:

  • Obtaining certification as a stroke center.  While we have staff well trained in stroke care, official certification is a crucial component of a state-of-the-art Emergency Department and will be a vital resource for our community.  Support is needed for the staffing and training mandatory for stroke center certification.
  • Investing in EKG equipment for installation in the Lake Forest and Lake Bluff Fire Department ambulances.  This equipment shortens the time needed for physicans to assess the condition of the patient and determine if they should be sent directly to our Cardiac Catheterization Lab for critical cardiac interventions.

  • Renovating our Emergency Department waiting areas to create a more comfortable space for patients and visitors.  In moments of a medical crisis, a soothing environment alleviates stress and calms patients and family members.

Your gift is an investment in protection for your family today and for many years to come.
